Hand-Carved Pink Feldspar and Quartz Butterfly Wings...

Elegant sculpture in pink quartz with white feldspar veining and yellow accents — This unique specimen presents an elegant butterfly-shaped sculpture, expertly carved from a block of pink quartz with distinctive inclusions of white feldspar and subtle yellowish hints. The mineral, originating from Argentina, has been masterfully cut to recreate the delicacy and symmetry of butterfly wings, with incised veins that enhance its three-dimensionality and realism. The color palette is particularly fascinating: a soft, enveloping pink blends harmoniously with the white striations and the small yellow spots of the feldspar, creating a visual effect that recalls the natural and variegated texture of exotic lepidopteran wings. Each wing is a work of art in itself, smoothed to reveal the material’s intrinsic luster and at the same time sculpted to impart movement and lightness. The object is presented on an elegant black metal base, designed to support the two separate wings, which visually join to form the insect, creating a focal point of great impact. Displaying the butterfly in this way highlights its silhouette and makes it an ideal decorative piece for any environment, from classical to contemporary. It is a perfect example of how nature and art can fuse to create something extraordinary. Beyond its undeniable aesthetic charm, this sculpture represents an intriguing bridge between lapidary art and the natural beauty of minerals. Pieces like this enrich every collection and can be considered prized elements in a modern Wunderkammer, combining the elegance of carving with the geological history of the material. A object of rare beauty that captures the eye and stimulates wonder.
