HAMILTON KHAKI FIELD KING QUARTZ – DAY/DATE – SWISS MADE – 40 MM A piece of genuine Swiss military spirit, conceived for those who value legibility, functionality and robustness over embellishments. This Hamilton Khaki Field King Quartz combines the historic field watch aesthetic of Hamilton with the precision and comfort of a Swiss quartz movement. The photographed piece belongs to the Khaki Field King family, in black dial configuration, stainless steel case and full day-date function. The generic reference H644510 is associated with this generation of the Khaki King Quartz; Hamilton documents black dial variants of this family, such as H64451533, with the ETA 955.132 caliber. AESTHETIC BORN FROM MILITARY WATCHMAKING The Khaki Field represents one of Hamilton’s most recognizable collections and directly inherits the tradition of military and campaign watches. Its design responds to a fundamentally functional philosophy: large numerals, immediate readability, inner 24-hour scale, clearly graduated minutes, and high-contrast hands. Hamilton precisely describes the Khaki Field collection as a line inspired by soldier watches and developed around concepts of resilience, functionality and adventure. In this specimen, the black dial contrasts intensely with the clear numerals and hands, offering an unmistakable instrumental look. DAY-DATE CALENDAR Probably the most characteristic element of the Khaki Field King is its spectacular calendar at 12 o’clock. A wide semicircular aperture displays the full day of the week, while immediately below there is an independent window for the date. This Day-Date architecture gives the watch a very particular personality and allows immediate recognition of the Khaki King compared to other Khaki collection models. The official functions of the Khaki Field King Quartz are precisely day and date. HIGH-LEGIBILITY BLACK DIAL The dial uses a military-inspired layout with a double time scale. The outer conventional numerals read the hours 1 to 12, while an inner scale shows the military 13 to 23 hours. The perimeter features an extremely detailed minute track, with five-minute increments. The hour and minute hands have broad clear surfaces to improve visibility. Hamilton also specifies the use of Super-LumiNova in this family. At 12 o’clock you find the calendar; in the center, the name HAMILTON; and in the lower area, the inscription KHAKI. Finally, at 6 o’clock you can distinguish the inscription SWISS MADE, coherent with the Swiss fabrication of the piece. SWISS QUARTZ MOVEMENT This Khaki King belongs to the generation equipped with a quartz movement, an option especially interesting for those seeking maximum practicality and precision in a watch inspired by the military. Hamilton documents for the black Khaki Field King Quartz of this generation the caliber 955.132, along with the day-date functions. In the photos of the specimen with the back case removed you can directly see its electronic quartz mechanism. Unlike an automatic watch, it does not require winding from wrist movement: its energy comes from a battery, providing particularly convenient use and high accuracy. 40 MM STAINLESS STEEL CASE The case is made of stainless steel and maintains the robust and functional design characteristic of the Khaki Field. Diameter: 40 mm Approx. thickness: 10.25 mm Lug width: 20 mm Material: stainless steel These are the dimensions officially specified by Hamilton for the Khaki Field King Quartz variants of this generation. The 40 mm size provides a very balanced feel: enough wrist presence without reaching the oversized dimensions of some contemporary sports watches. Especially characteristic is the side design of the case around the crown, integrated between protectors that help reduce exposure to accidental knocks. Hamilton explicitly highlights this detail in the model description. SYNTHIC SAPPHIRE CRYSTAL Another notable element is its sapphire crystal, a feature particularly appreciated in watchmaking for its high scratch resistance. Hamilton confirms the use of sapphire in the Khaki Field King Quartz of this family. This constitutes an important advantage for a watch originally conceived around a daily-use philosophy and campaign aesthetics. WATER RESISTANCE The factory specification for this family is: 5 bar / 50 meters Hamilton officially specifies a water resistance of 5 bars (50 m / 164 ft) for the Khaki As this is a used watch, this figure corresponds to the original specification of the model. Water resistance is not currently guaranteed without first performing a pressure test, especially advisable before exposing any used watch to water. HAMILTON STRAP The watch is presented with an elegant brown, classic-style strap, whose warm tone pairs especially well with the black dial and stainless steel case. On the inner face you can clearly see the HAMILTON engraving, together with manufacturing codes. The metal buckle also bears the HAMILTON name, maintaining the brand’s identity even in the least visible details. The strap shows signs of use consistent with a previously worn watch, especially around the adjustment holes and flex zones. CASE BACK The back is stainless steel and features a large H emblem of Hamilton in the center. Around the perimeter you can see different inscriptions corresponding to the watch’s features, including: SWISS MADE SAPPHIRE CRYSTAL STAINLESS STEEL WATER RESISTANT 50M MAIN SPECIFICATIONS - Brand: Hamilton - Collection: Khaki Field - Model: Khaki Field King Quartz - Reference family: H644510 - Movement: Swiss quartz - Caliber for this generation: ETA 955.132 - Functions: Hours, minutes, seconds, day and date - Dial: Black - Calendar: Day-Date - Day indicator: Panorama window at 12 h - Date: Independent window at 12 h - Time scale: 12/24 hours - Case: Stainless steel - Diameter: 40 mm - Thickness: approx. 10.25 mm - Crystal: Sapphire - Lug width: 20 mm - Factory water resistance: 5 bar / 50 m - Luminescence: Super-LumiNova per model specification - Strap: Brown - Buckle: Hamilton - Manufacturing: Swiss Made - Style: Military / Field Watch / Casual / Sports - Dimensional and technical specifications correspond to the Khaki Field King Quartz family CONDITION Used piece in good overall condition, with excellent aesthetic presence. The case shows marks and micro-scratches typical of use, particularly noticeable on brushed steel surfaces when viewed in macro photography. However, it retains its lines and geometry correctly. The black dial maintains an attractive presentation and excellent legibility. In macro photos you may notice some small marks or surface particles, so please examine all images carefully, which form an integral part of the description. The brown strap shows visible signs of wear and bending, especially around the holes, normal for a leather strap in use. Both the strap and the buckle bear Hamilton markings. The inner movement has been photographed specifically to offer the buyer an additional view of the piece. HAMILTON: AMERICAN HERITAGE AND SWISS WATCHMAKING Hamilton was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, in 1892, developing a significant historical relationship with railways, aviation, and later with watches designed for military use. Over time, the company moved its watch production to Switzerland and is currently part of the Swatch Group, combining an American-origin identity with Swiss watchmaking. The Khaki collection is precisely one of the most recognizable expressions of that heritage: functional, legible and robust watches, inspired by military instruments but adapted to contemporary use. A PIECE TO ENJOY DAILY This Hamilton Khaki Field King Quartz is especially interesting for those seeking a prestigious Swiss watch without sacrificing the convenience of quartz. The combination of a black dial, full Day-Date calendar, 24-hour military numerals, 40 mm stainless steel case, sapphire crystal, and brown Hamilton strap makes for a tremendously versatile watch: sporty without being excessive and classic without drifting into an overly formal aesthetic. A Swiss field watch with its own personality, instantly recognizable for its distinctive Day-Date window at 12 o’clock and backed by one of the historical names in contemporary Swiss watchmaking. The piece is delivered exactly as shown in the photographs. The images form an integral part of the description and allow a detailed assessment of its condition before purchase.
