An exceptionally elegant and rare octagonal decorative plate of eggshell porcelain, produced by the renowned NV Plateelbakkerij Rozenburg from The Hague. This masterpiece dates from 1912 and is entirely hand-decorated with a refined Art Nouveau 'Sea Anemone' motif. The flowing, organic decoration is rendered in a beautiful soft palette of yellow- and greenish tones with subtle red accents, set against a characteristic light background. The plate is masterfully painted by Rozenburg's absolute top designer and master painter Samuel Schellink (1876–1958). Fully factory-stamped in blue (Crown, Stork, Rozenburg The Hague). Manufactured in 1912, given the absence of a year icon, typical for documented production in the years 1911-1912. Diameter: 21 cm, it is large compared to the saucers for the cups. The plate is in visually splendid, museum-like condition; the colors and glaze have remained brilliantly bright. There has been a very skilled, professional restoration at a hairline. This is observable only under UV light and not to the naked eye and does not detract from the high decorative and museum value of this collectible object. Beautiful piece for the Art Nouveau collector or museums, including Haags Gemeentemuseum, Boijmans van Beuningen, and of course the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
