Ca. 20th century AD. > A group of two textile costume elements, each richly embellished with polychrome embroidery and applied ornament. One is formed as a panelled garment or apron with vertical bands of geometric and stylised motifs in green, red and cream, finished with a fringe of dark fibres. The other is composed of multiple embroidered straps or bands, gathered at the top and terminating in dense tassels and trailing cords, creating a dynamic, layered appearance. Such elements were likely worn as part of ceremonial or festive dress, where vibrant colour, intricate needlework and movement-enhancing fringes contributed to visual impact. > > Size: 450-660mm x 240-350mm; Weight: 690g > Provenance: Prince collection, 1990s-2014. > >
