Extremely beautiful and also large antique bronze sculpture, depicting a lively Bacchanalian scene with a satyr and a nymph, crafted after an 18th-century model by the famous French sculptor Claude Michel Clodion (1738–1814). This impressive 19th-century artwork is executed with exceptional craftsmanship. The composition is richly detailed with the characteristic goat-like legs of the satyr, graceful grapevines, and a realistically formed rocky base, all in the playful and sensual style for which Clodion is internationally known. The condition of the heavy sculpture is excellent. Dimensions: 65 × 27 × 30 cm.
