Great Britain 1865 - 1 Penny Carmine Rose

Rare official trial print produced under the supervision of the General Post Office, 25 years after the first issue, from all original plates in very small print runs. This piece has, as a special rarity, a fragment from the left sheet margin and is unperforated instead of perforated. The stamp mostly has original gum and four good margins. Unlike the 1840 issue, the stamps are crisper in print and have slight variations in gum and ink. Catalogue value: € GBP 2,250 (Stanley Gibbons Special 2024) Front and back are illustrated, see scans. We generally ship by registered letter with delivery confirmation/parcel post with tracking or DHL parcel. The Deutsche Post Brief option is no longer available. Any potential customs duties or import charges for export shipments are borne by the buyer. This item is offered under § 25a UStG (differential taxation “collectibles and antiques / special regulation”) without tax disclosure. SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE USA CUSTOMERS: GERMAN POST (DHL) doesn't accept shipments of commercial goods for the USA anymore. We can't send anything to the USA, so please do not place orders unless you can arrange shipment to some other country.
