Gothic Chimneypiece - 1900-1910 - Mythical Creatures Fireplace Screen

Elegant antique fireplace screen, dating from around 1900 or earlier. The screen consists of four hinged panels with fine metal mesh and a decorative bronze surround. The upper edges are richly adorned with winged mythical creatures and ring-shaped crowning. Twisted decorative rims and small feet complete the design. The adjustable side panels allow the screen to be set in different positions. The bronze shows a warm patina and visible signs of wear. A characterful and decorative object for a classic fireplace. Carefully packed and sent by registered mail.
