The most interesting element of the specimen is the small dark central core, compatible with hematite, from which a significant portion of the rutile needles emanate. This type of association can form during different growth stages: small crystals of iron oxides can constitute nucleation points on which rutile subsequently develops its acicular structures. The result is a particularly evocative three-dimensional mineralogical composition, with an almost stellate effect at the center of the stone.
