Golden pentagonal-dodecahedral pyrite

From our selection of collectible minerals, we propose a splendid group of pentagon-dodecahedral pyrite crystals with quartz, from the Huanzala Mine in Peru. Moreover, it is characterized by pentagon-dodecahedral crystals with the distinctive golden, lustrous habit, in association with small quartz crystals that create a pleasant color contrast, which enhances its aesthetic value and mineralogical importance. The specimen stands out for the quality of crystallization and for the overall aesthetic balance, with features that highlight its natural structure and visual impact. Pyrite (FeS2) crystallizes in the cubic system, but its particular symmetry class allows it to develop pentagonal faces giving rise to the pentagon-dodecahedral habit, different from a perfect cube. The name derives from the Greek 'pyr' (fire), because striking it against steel produces sparks. The Huanzala Mine, located in the Peruvian Andes, is a polymetallic deposit of lead, zinc and silver renowned among collectors for its pyrite specimens with shiny, well-formed faces. This is an ideal specimen for mineral collections, display, and for those who appreciate the natural beauty of minerals, even in the realm of crystal therapy and lithotherapy, according to the properties traditionally associated with the mineral species. All minerals are 100% natural and untreated, with rare exceptions always indicated in the description. The photographs are taken with professional lighting to best highlight colors and details; however, slight variations in shade may occur depending on the device or ambient light.
