All auctions / Porcelain & Pottery / Glengarry Iroquois Beaded Hat

Canadian. A beaded Glengarry cap made by an Iroquois/Mohawk for the tourist trade in the last half of the 19th century. These hats became popular due to the influence of British military uniforms and the influx of Scottish settlers. Strong colours with the beaded floral motifs in good condition. Very possibly made at Kahnawake near Montreal around 1860. Unmarked.
