"Less is more", Ludwig Mies van der Rohe claimed to express the ideals of modernism and the Bauhaus. Robert Venturi, the most famous architect of postmodernism, reformulated this sentence 60 years later: "Less is a bore" – and thus expressed the sense of style and the will to form of the 1980s in a catchy slogan. The 1980s ring presented here was born out of this spirit – and it is a truly impressive piece of jewellery. The ring face is designed as an elongated shield, referencing models from the Art Deco era. The modern, often racy and always memorable designs found their audience with great success not only in the turbulent interwar period. Especially in the postmodern era, there were always new friends and fashions that fell back on the forms of Art Deco and successfully adapted them to contemporary tastes. Our ring is no different. Its design is based on the originals of the 1920s, but it is more reduced and powerful. Its surface is completely set with brilliant and eight cut diamonds. A total of about 1.28 ct of diamonds give the ring a cool, elegant sparkle. The ring found to from a Berlin estate and is a statement piece from the 1980s.
