These clip-on earrings are made of rich gold, glittering diamonds and large coloured gemstones - combining everything that no luxurious jewellery box of the 1960s could do without. Two large emerald drops swing beneath an upper section of golden cords and leaf ornaments. The gemstones have a combined weight of around 6.70 ct and impress with their intense green color. The shape of the clips is typical of the late 1960s. Whether in the form of feathers, leaf motifs as here or completely abstract - people loved dynamically curved, sculptural earrings made of textured gold. Very similar designs were in demand throughout Europe and the USA and were launched by houses such as David Webb and Van Cleef & Arpels. The hallmark on the clips reveals that they were made in Germany, more precisely in Hanau. The city on the River Main was already the center of German jewel production during the German Empire. Precious pieces of jewelry were also produced here for the international market well into the 20th century. We have had an independent appraisal carried out to confirm the quality of the materials used. The clips from the 1960s are in excellent condition and the perfect complement - not only to the Chanel costume, which captured the hearts of the ladies of the international jet set at that time!
