A key turning point in his career occurred in the 1980s, Towards the late 1980s, he created the IMAGES movement together with other Abruzzese artists. In 2013 he founded the Giuseppe Fortunato Foundation, dedicated to archiving and sharing his artistic legacy. The Foundation also engages in cultural activities, promoting diverse artistic perspectives. Fortunato's "Colate" series, characterized by vivid enamels on expansive surfaces. Fortunato's artistic career has been marked by his exploration of deep, not superficial, emotions. He achieved early success in Italy and expanded his reach to the United Kingdom, across Europe and the USA. As a painter, sculptor, and designer, Fortunato's work evolved toward a surreal aesthetic, ultimately reaching his characteristic "Colate" style: colorful, fluid enamels applied to large flat surfaces.
