Giosetta Fioroni (1932) - A fair tale

Giosetta Fioroni (1932) - A fair tale

Pair of original graphic work by Giosetta Fioroni (born in Rome, 1932), one of the most prominent figures of Italian Pop Art. She was the only female member of the historic "Scuola di Piazza del Popolo" (Piazza del Popolo School) in Rome, alongside artists like Mario Schifano, Tano Festa, and Franco Angeli. Unlike American Pop Art, which heavily relied on mass-produced mechanical screenprints (such as Andy Warhol's works), Fioroni’s art stands out for its introspective, poetic, and handcrafted qualities. Her work is deeply rooted in personal memories, childhood fairy tales, and a unique emotional sensitivity. Both artworks features bottom right is its original brand and are hand-signed by the artist in pencil along the bottom right. Giosetta Fioroni’s works are highly sought after by collectors worldwide, with major retrospectives celebrating her mastery of graphics and multimedia arts. These specific prints are an elegant, historically significant example of her work that brings a sophisticated, mid-century Italian contemporary flair to any modern space. The first oneis un exceptional original graphic work on heavy metallic paper perfectly showcases Fioroni’s unique poetic approach to femininity, memory, and industrial aesthetics. Printed on a stunning, metallic silver-grey background, the piece directly recalls her iconic "Argenti silver paintings" from the 1960s. Her signature minimalist line work isolates the female features, capturing an intimate, transient moment—half-dissolved by light and reflection. It is a masterful dialogue between mechanical, technical grids and the soft, elusive vulnerability of the human soul. Limited edition numbered on the bottom left 35\100 About the second one, the drawing featuring aeroplanes is an original silkscreen print entitled ‘Untitled’, created by the Italian artist Giosetta Fioroni in 1974. It forms part of a renowned limited-edition art portfolio entitled “Una favola” (A fairy tale) featuring texts by the art critic Alberto Boatto and music by the composer Sylvano Bussotti , printed in a run of just 100 numbered copies, as indicated by the artist’s pencil signature and the number 53 \100 visible at the bottom left of the sheet. The artwork features muted grey shapes that reflect her signature use of industrial aluminum paint known as the Argenti or Silver series. For Fioroni, silver represents "memory, recovery, and the suspension of time". The stylized biplanes moving across a geometric grid resemble childhood toys or early mid-century aviation graphics, a recurring motif tied to her poetic exploration of youth and imagination. The artworks are sold without frame This pair of items, upon request, are accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by un official Expert for the Chamber of Commerce of Rome and for the Rome Civil Courts. This pair of artwork, never before on the market, comes from an important european private collection Professional secure packaging assured Worldwide shipping via DHL or FEDEX For further information, please contact Egidimadeinitaly
