Gilmer, Texas. $20 1929 Ty. 1. Fr. 1802-1. Farmers & Merchants NB. Charter #5741. PCGS Banknote Very Fine 30. Issued by a somewhat scarce bank that records a total of approximately 26 non-institutional notes in the National Bank Note Census. This mid-grade T1 $10 issued by the Farmers and Merchants National Bank of Gilmer (Charter# 5741) is still a scarce item at least in numismatic terms. Representative of a population where evenly circulated and well-circulated examples are the norm, it takes little to recognize that this example is a fine note for the grade assigned. Here honest circulation consistent with the assigned grade is readily apparent while no apparent issues have been noted by PCGS Banknote making this a superb example that stands out among the recorded survivors especially for the Series of 1929. Estimate: $1,000 - $1,500. Provenance: From the Jack Copeland Currency Collection, Part IV. Click here for certification details from PCGS Banknote.
