The Gibson Dove original cherry sunburst is a guitar you recognize immediately, even before you play a note. The combination of the dreadnought design, the pronounced cherry burst, and the richly detailed pickguard with an inlaid dove gives this model its own character within the Gibson acoustic line. Under the hood it’s all about definition and projection. The solid Sitka spruce top provides a quick response and clear foundation, while the flame maple back and sides give a tight, focused tone with clear articulation. In combination with the long scale length, that yields a powerful, open sound that stays articulate in a band setting. The square-shouldered body adds just enough warmth and balance to round out the overall sound musically. The traditional scalloped X-bracing contributes to a lively, dynamic character with plenty of headroom. The build is classic Gibson, with a mahogany neck and a fretboard that feels smooth and familiar. The rounded neck profile sits comfortably in the hand and supports both solid strumming and subtle fingerstyle playing. Details like a bound nut and saddle, Grover tuners and the nitrocellulose lacquer finish complete it, in terms of look and resonance. The Dove was Gibson’s second square-shouldered dreadnought after the introduction of the Hummingbird in 1960. It was based on Martin D-style dreadnought. Scale length: 648 mm - 25.5'' It’s a louder, brighter guitar than the Hummingbird. An icon from the 60s returns with its angelic voice, stunning beauty and authentic details. A superior sound quality designed with precision and character for timeless aesthetics and exceptional performance. The guitar is stunningly beautiful in every way.
