Alpine mountain massif in the evening light (Alpenglühen) Atmospheric mountain landscape with finely staged light. In the foreground, a rocky path extends through sparse hillside vegetation, flanked by dark conifers. The eye is drawn to an imposing, rocky massif whose peaks glow in the warm pink and gold tones of the evening sun, while the valley already lies in shadow. Artist: M. Christ / M. Christl / M. Chrisl (lower left signed in red and dated; in Sütterlin-/Kurrent brush marking the ending of the name is variably readable as -st, -stl, or -sl) Lifespan/Biographical data of the artist: Landscape painter of the late 19th century from the vicinity of the Munich School. The canvas is intact and shows on the reverse the original wedges, a historical brush/wood-nail fixing, as well as the original paper label of the well-known Munich gilding and framing business Rahmen Müller (Munich 2, Maximiliansplatz 20).
