Georg Jensen - S

Georg Jensen – Cafu vase – HolmbäckNordentoft – mirror-polished stainless steel – Danish design Elegant Cafu vase from the Danish design house Georg Jensen, designed by HolmbäckNordentoft: the design duo Sebastian Holmbäck and Ulrik Nordentoft. The organic, curved form with slender neck and the mirror-polished stainless steel give the vase a sculptural appearance. The glossy surface reflects light and the surroundings, so the soft contours come into their own in different ways. The Cafu collection embodies the beauty of minimalist Scandinavian design. Within this collection, organic shapes come together with materials such as blue glass, steel, and gold in vases and bowls that are striking decor accents both when filled and on their own. The flowing lines and understated elegance align with Georg Jensen’s rich design tradition. Cafu is presented in the collection description as a modern classic with a timeless character. Sebastian Holmbäck and Ulrik Nordentoft have built a versatile oeuvre, ranging from furniture and lighting to kitchen accessories and interior objects. In this vase, their sense of form and material comes together beautifully: a functional object that also convinces as a standalone design piece even without flowers. This piece fits the medium version of the Cafu series, which Georg Jensen introduced in 2015. The exact production year of this vase has not been established. The underside bears the trademark ‘Georg Jensen Denmark’. The measured dimensions are approximately 30.5 cm high and 20.5 cm in diameter, with a weight of 1409 grams. The vase is in very good used condition with minimal patina from age and use on the high-gloss surface. The photos are part of the condition description. A characterful example of contemporary Danish design, with a timeless look that fits equally well in either a Scandinavian or modern interior.
