This painting shows a landscape of hills and fields that extends under a wide, bright sky. In the foreground, small cultivated plots form horizontal bands of greens, ochres, and browns, separated by dark lines that suggest borders or rural paths. Some trees and shrubs cluster beside the fields, with branches speckled with flowers and leaves in shades of yellow, orange, and bluish tones. From these lands the gaze rises to a large green hill dominating the center of the scene and visually leading to the more distant elevations. The main hill occupies a good part of the landscape and stands out for its gentle slopes, which bend smoothly and seem to advance toward the viewer. Its different greens alternate between lighter and shaded areas, shaping the relief and suggesting the grass covering its slopes. A dark line runs across part of the summit and marks the contour of the elevation, while small color variations hint at changes in terrain. Around it appear other hills, some in more muted tones and others near ochres, enriching the landscape without diminishing the prominence of the central hill. Beyond, several ranges of mountains follow one after another to the horizon. The closer ones retain intense greens and blues, while the farther ones become cooler and softer, as if the distance envelopes them in a light mist. Their wavy profiles create a succession of lines that traverse the composition and add depth. To the left, some rocky or bare-earth zones are visible, whose brown tones contrast with the vegetation on the slopes. The variety of shapes and colors turns the horizon into a visual journey from one edge of the painting to the other. The sky, a pale serene blue, occupies the upper band and seems to bathe the whole landscape in light. A few light clouds drift over the mountains, and their soft shapes contribute to the tranquil atmosphere of the scene. The light illuminates the hills unevenly: certain areas take on a brighter green, while others remain in bluish shadows. At the lower part, the cultivated plots and nearby vegetation provide warm, varied details that balance the vastness of the mountains. The composition conveys the sensation of a clear day in the countryside, with a clarity that allows the viewer to contemplate the different planes of the landscape. Taken together, the work represents a rural panorama of green hills, successive mountains and fields divided into parcels. The view combines the closeness of vegetation and crops with the breadth of a mountainous horizon, creating a sense of space and calm. The intense greens of the central hill balance with the blues of the sky and distant mountains, while the ochre tones of the ground add warmth. The landscape invites the viewer to sweep with their gaze along its gentle slopes and imagine the quiet of a day spent in nature.
