FRENCH REPUBLIC — NAVY Travel permit issued to Pierre Marie Charpentier. Caen, 27 Brumaire, Year III of the Republic [November 17, 1794]. Printed and handwritten document from the Le Havre-Marat District, Caen sector, bearing the printed seal of the Navy of the French Republic. Permit granted to Pierre Marie Charpentier, aged 25, a native of the parish of Douvres and son of Thomas, to work in Le Havre, Honfleur, or Rouen for a period of six months. Signed by the deputy head of the Navy’s civil office. A very interesting maritime administrative document from the Revolutionary period, dated according to the Republican calendar. Creases, stains, small marginal losses, and signs of handling; red stamp preserved in the lower portion.
