Francisci Ernesti Bruckmanni, phil. et med. doct. itineraria epistola itineraria LXXIX. on mnemonic signs of cities. to the most excellent, most learned and most erudite lord, Lord Christian. Nettelbladt, jur. ut. doctor and ordinary professor of the Grieffswald academy. the most outstanding, highly celebrated polyhistor, etc. with copper engravings - Wolffenbuttel, [n.p.], 1739 - 12 pp + 4 engravings (each on 1 page) - no binding, as issued Good. Paper inevitably browned, except for three purple spots on the last page. Contains four engravings: - A traditional German half-timbered house with distinctive facade structures, crisscrossed beams and diamond-pane windows. This type of striking buildings served at the time as a visual landmark within a city. - A naked male figure leaning backward against the slanted side of a sleek pyramid or obelisk. This presumably refers to a local monument or a well-known urban legend. - A heraldic city emblem (1537): A richly decorated print with a central shield flanked by two smaller shields (one of which bears a chalice). The print is surrounded by a Baroque border with marginal captions, cherub figures in the corners and the clear inscription: "Hans Lange 1537 vnd sine Kinder". - A lying bull or ox with a very unusual, double-horn structure on its head that almost forms a hat or crown.
