Magnificent 18th-century silver dish or presentation plate made by the silversmith Francisco A. González de Lanciego from Logroño. (506). The dish is hand-hammered and displays a lovely decoration of flowers and scrolls. The dish bears the inscription: LABARA (?) or JABARRA. The silver dish has several hallmarks: City mark Logroño, Master mark Francisco A. Gonzalez de Lanciego, and a mark of ENTE. Probably the assayer’s mark (Essayeur). One ornament of the dish shows about 1 mm of play over a distance of 3 cm. (see also the photo) The dish is, moreover, in absolute top condition and museum-worthy. The dish is also provided with a test stroke by which the silver content was determined in the past. Weight: 710 grams. Dimensions: 4 x 35.5 x 44 cm.
