France – Louis-Philippe I – 4 × 5 francs 1832 and 1845 – Paris, Strasbourg and Lille – Silver .900 Lot of four silver 5-franc coins from the reign of Louis-Philippe I. This collection includes three examples from 1832, each originating from a different French mint, supplemented by one example from 1845. Composition: * 1832 A – Paris * 1832 BB – Strasbourg * 1832 W – Lille * 1845 BB – Strasbourg The obverse shows the portrait of Louis-Philippe I to the right, with an oak wreath and the inscription “LOUIS PHILIPPE I ROI DES FRANÇAIS”. Under the portrait is the engraver’s signature DOMARD.F, by Joseph-François Domard. The reverse shows the value “5 FRANCS” and the year within a wreath, with the mint mark at the bottom. Technical data: * Silver content: 900/1000 * Catalog weight: 25 grams per coin * Catalog diameter: 37 mm * Total theoretical weight: 100 grams, corresponding to 90 grams of fine silver before wear The coins show circulation marks and vary in wear and discoloration.
