Bazor, Marianne greets figures representing North Africa, sub-Saharan Africa and Indo-China under the leaves of a chestnut tree, rev. plan of the Expo in the Bois de Vincennes, edge impressed 2 argent and cornucopia, 68mm, 151.02g (Maier 330 [Sale, lot 249]; Ruedas 24; CGMP p.30; cf. Spink 228, 291; cf. Album 43, 2236; cf. DNW M14, 1275). Minor marks on edge, otherwise good very fine, very rare in silver; in original red gilt-blocked case of issue, lid in gilt ‘Commission de Contrôle de la Circulation Monétaire’ £240-£300.
