Important ensemble of 32 French 19th-century business correspondences, mainly from the 1850s to 1870s, including numerous stamped letters from the Second Empire with their letters, invoices, waybills and commercial documents of origin. Very beautiful collection for a postal history collector, ancient documents and industrial heritage, with many letterheads particularly decorative. Among the represented houses: Dreyfus Frères & Cie – clockmaking, Brissonneau Frères – Nantes, Bayvel – Hydraulic Spinning, Vallauris – refractory pottery, Martouret & Boisson – luxury weapons, Boisson-Gazanion – corset factory, Martin & Peigné – spinning and wool, Poulan & Bavier – Dijon, J.B. Mallet Fils & Cie – candles and soap, Lobereau & Meurgey – cements, as well as several banks, manufactories, forges and trading houses. Numerous commercial postmarks, numeral cancellations, date stamps and Napoléon III blue stamps. Several documents feature remarkable engraved or illustrated letterheads of mills, exhibition medals and industrial establishments. Condition varies with the age of the documents: folds, foxing, small tears and signs of use. The photographs are an integral part of the description. Sold as a set as shown.
