Splendid seventeenth-century inspired frame (Seicento / Baroque style), 19th century – Carved wood, ebonized and gilded Type: Important wall or picture frame in 17th-century style, made in Europe during the 19th century. Material and Technique: Solid wood richly carved with molded profiles and geometric decorations; parts finished in ebony (black) alternated with bands and panels enhanced with leaf gilding, characterized by a refined patina and dense relief work (straw-mat or textured effect). Design and Style: The frame faithfully reproduces the aesthetic canons of the sumptuous baroque and seventeenth-century frames (typical of Italian or Flemish school paintings of the period), characterized by a strong color contrast between the deep black of the lacquer and the brightness of the gilding. The structure features a complex architectural profile, with angular projections and geometric recesses that give the work three-dimensionality and great depth. Conditions: Generally excellent condition, with a beautiful antique patina.
