Frame - gilding, Metal - 20th Century, Italy

Elegant antique frame made in the mid-20th century (the 1950s), characterized by a solid wooden structure with molded profiles and decorations finished in metal. The surface is embellished with a fine gilding performed using the mecca technique (metal leaf protected by translucent varnish), which gives the frame warm gold tones mixed with amber and brownish shades. The distinctive workmanship and controlled wear confer a highly evocative, lived-in charm, enhancing the tactile texture of the support. The generous profile and classical shaping make it ideal for framing period paintings, oil on canvas, mirrors, or to be inserted as an autonomous decorative element in both classic and contemporary interiors.
