Fr. 279. 1899 $5 Silver Certificate. PMG Extremely Fine 40.

Fr. 279. 1899 $5 Silver Certificate. PMG Extremely Fine 40. A lightly circulated example of one of the most iconic designs of the period. This $5 Silver Certificate issued under the Series of 1899 offers a particularly pleasing sight rife with apparent originality and strong eye appeal further magnified by the relative scarcity of the Elliot - Burke signature combination current during the early 1920s compared to other more oft-encountered signature combinations. For the collector who has long desired to represent this iconic design in their collection, the bold shade of the overprint combined with the aforementioned qualities is bound to provoke much in the way of interest from bidders. Estimate: $2,000 - $3,000. Provenance: From the American Legacy Collection. Click here for certification details from PMG.

Estimate:$1,200
