Fr. 2309. 1934A $10 North Africa Emergency Note. PCGS Banknote Gem Uncirculated 66 PPQ. BA Block. Here for the consideration of bidders is a Gem Uncirculated example of this popular WWII-era Emergency Issue note made for circulation among American forces stationed and fighting along the North African front during the early years of American involvement in the wider conflict. Looking inwards one may observe what makes this emission distinctive in visual terms. Emblazoned with a yellow-blue Treasury overprint that handled circulation poorly in relative terms. That overprint also manages to offer a fine contrast against the engraved design and this example is nonetheless the exception for a common type that can be had with ease in lower grades. No doubt an opportunity considering it has been almost over a year since we last sold an example of this Friedberg Number with a numerical grade of "66." Estimate: $1,000 - $1,500.
