Fr. 2200-Gdgs. 1928 Dark Green Seal $500 Federal Reserve Note. Chicago.

Fr. 2200-Gdgs. 1928 Dark Green Seal $500 Federal Reserve Note. Chicago. PMG Choice Very Fine 35 EPQ. Northing short of an exceptional example for the grade assigned. This moderately circulated "Gold Clause" $500 Federal Reserve Note from the Chicago district has all the makings of a note that has been conservatively graded as one may behold many qualities that are often lost even at this grade level. From luscious and boldly original color exemplified by the green of the Treasury overprint to crisp detail exemplified by the portrait of William McKinley at centers, bidders are advised that this is not simply another $500 Federal Reserve Note from the Chicago district, but alas a true survivor that embodies something exceptional for the grade level. Estimate: $3,000 - $4,000. Click here for certification details from PMG.
