Fr. 1550s. 1966 $100 Legal Tender Note. PMG Choice Uncirculated 64.

Rarely Seen Specimen $100 Legal Tender Note Fr. 1550s. 1966 $100 Legal Tender Note. PMG Choice Uncirculated 64. Almost identical to its issued counterpart, this note stands as an exceptional offering of an underrated and scarcely offered Specimen type from the 1960s. Here faint traces of handling consistent with its intended purpose can be seen along the margins, but such a distinction fails to detract from the exceptional nature of the note itself as these were typically destroyed once their intended purpose was fulfilled. Bold engraved design elements further contrast against the distinct crimson hues endemic to the Treasury overprint and helps grant this example a degree of eye appeal often lost upon its non-specimen counterparts. To that end, one would be remiss not to consider this a rare note worthy of a premium bid levied at the hands of a sophisticated collector with an exceptional taste in numismatic material. PMG Pop 5/2 Finer. Estimate: $6,000 - $8,000. Click here for certification details from PMG.
