For the Want of Something More by Newel Hunter Painting 16.0 x 20.0 :: Reminiscent of minimalistic and Zen-inspired art For the Want of Something More is a perfect example of Hunter’s uniquely expressive style -- which so often results in arresting images with a sense of depth and sculptural form. The painting consists of a striking white circular form set against a solid black background. As the top of the circle comes together two human-like forms one male one female reach for each other. The circle is not perfectly closed creating a dynamic sense of movement and flow and yet-to-be. The white shape varies in texture and density with some parts appearing more solid and others more fragmented or granular adding depth and interest to the piece. The overall composition is minimalistic yet powerful emphasizing contrast and the interplay between positive and negative space. This piece beautifully captures the essence of simplicity while provoking contemplation through its imperfect circle. The contrast between the stark black and vibrant white immediately draws the eye emphasizing the form and its textured details. The broken and textured nature of the circle suggests impermanence and fluidity which infuse the work with a compelling sense of life and motion. This quality invites viewers to reflect on concepts such as continuity cycles the beauty found in imperfection and the infinite potential of new love. Painted with acrylic on an 16 x 20 x .5 inch canvas the painting comes carefully packaged and shipped in a heavy-duty cardboard box for maximum protection. Signed on the back and accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity. :: Type: Painting Medium: Acrylic Style: Abstract Expressionism Subject: Abstract Width: 16.0 Height: 20.0 Depth: 0.5 Weight: 1 lbs Framed: no :: All art on Zatista is original and signed.
