Ingo Maurer for Flair – set of 6 vintage Cintre clothes hangers – c. 1970 – Space Age design Special and highly decorative set of six vintage hangers, attributed to the internationally known German designer Ingo Maurer and produced for Flair, circa 1970. The design is immediately recognizable by the bold, graphic styling: a chunky integrated hook, wide rounded shoulders, the small opening under the hook and the long horizontal slot in the lower part. The warm chocolate-brown color makes this set particularly characteristic of 1970s interior design. Ingo Maurer (1932–2019) became world-famous mainly for his innovative lighting designs, but in the 1960s and 1970s he also designed various utilitarian objects and interior accessories. Documented examples of this coat hanger model are referred to as Cintre by Ingo Maurer for Flair, circa 1970.
