Details and collecting interest: Superb and authentic official document of the Napoleonic imperial administration “In the Name of Napoleon, Emperor of the French.” This passport was issued in Strasbourg by the General Commissioner of Police to a 19-year-old tailor named Jean Daniel Kohl, originally from Mannheim (Grand Duchy of Baden), to allow him to travel freely. The document is particularly interesting for its complete “Description” column on the left, precisely describing the wearer's physical characteristics at a time well before the invention of photography (height 1.68 m, gray eyes, blond hair, average nose, round chin, etc.).
