Description of the work: Splendid and imposing figurative sculpture in cast bronze, finely patinated, by the renowned Italian sculptor Filippo Antonio Cifariello (1864–1936), one of the most prestigious masters of Neapolitan verist sculpture at the end of the nineteenth and the early twentieth century. The work depicts a bust of a common man with an expressive face carved by time and a characteristic headdress. The modeling is of the highest plastic quality, rich in vigor and anatomical verismo, typical of the artist's language. Artist: Filippo Antonio Cifariello (1864–1936) Signature: Signed by the artist, engraved on the back (Cifariello) Material: Lost-wax cast bronze with the original brown patina of the period Era: Late 19th Century / Early 20th Century (circa 1890-1910) Height: 45 cm Weight: kg 10 Conditions: Generally excellent conservation. Original patina well preserved with very light and natural signs of aging that attest to its authenticity. Biografia dell'artista: Filippo Cifariello, born in Molfetta and active between Naples, Rome, Paris and the United States, was among the absolute protagonists of Italian verist sculpture and portraiture. His works are housed in important museums and public and private national and international collections.
