The object is a pipe bowl from the Tairona culture. • The object originates from northern Colombia and is dated to approximately 900–1400 CE. • The pipe bowl is made of terracotta/ceramic/stoneware. • The Tairona were known for their ceramics and their use of stone in the construction of houses and tombs. • Archaeological studies show that the Tairona produced both ritual and functional objects.
