Autograph letter signed by Félix Ziem, famous French painter of the Barbizon School. The letter is undated. Written in black ink on laid paper. In this letter, Félix Ziem asks a friend to intervene urgently to prevent a duel whose motive seems insufficient to him, stressing the tragic risks of this confrontation and offering his full willingness to help find a last-minute peaceful resolution. “Dear friend I was in the smoking room when you left, I wanted to thank you for your friendly introduction and tell you to prevent Henri _'s duel the motive is not sufficient, and what dreadful odds, who can know, and why not bring about a circumstance at the last moment; if I can do anything I am entirely at your disposal”} Dimensions: 13.3 x 21 cm State: Very good condition.
