Pocillopora meandrina, commonly known as cauliflower coral, is a species of coral found in the Indo-Pacific and Pacific Oceans. This coral lives in shallow coral reef environments. Colonies of P. meandrina can be quite solid and dome-shaped or branching with flattened areas resembling ridges or fine, twisted branches. The colonies are covered with wart-like growths. The color ranges from brown to pink, and the polyps with their extended tentacles are usually visible only at night. It is anticipated that the Solomon Islands will publish new regulations on coral export. Any blockage would not only make it difficult to source these beautiful specimens on the market but also cause a significant increase in their prices.
