Extra Quality Amethyst Cathedrals - Giant Sectioned Geode...

Giant Sectioned Geode - Deep Purple Crystals — This splendid pair of amethysts was obtained by sectioning a large geode of a truly unique shape, giving rise to an exclusive form with a sinuous and decorative appearance. This crystal is perfect for those who love the beauty and energy of gemstones, but also for geology enthusiasts. Its violet hue and intense color reflect its chemical composition, namely iron and magnesium silicate, which makes it a very precious and highly decorative mineral. Amethysts form in volcanic-origin regions and have the peculiarity of crystallizing inside cavities within volcanic rocks, such as among basaltic lavas, for example.
