One natural blister pearl, two blue sapphires, one green emerald, one red ruby and twelve sparkling diamond roses form the shimmering highlights of our visit to an enchanted garden. The shield-shaped ring face, composed of leaves, flowers and vines, appears like a golden bed, presenting the precious gemstones here like delicious fruit. The ring, which transports us to this lush, enchanting world of plants, belongs to a type of ring that emerged in Germany in the late 1920s and forms a warm, playful counter-design to the cool, graphic geometry of early 1920s Art Deco. This type of ring got its name from its decoration with applied vines and leaves, from which pearls and gemstones peek out like ripe fruit. The specimen we have here was forged by hand in the 1930s. The old rose cut diamonds used here probably came from an older piece of jewellery at the time; its shape reveals that they were cut as early as the 19th century. In this ring, they were able to blossom a new time. An independent certificate has confirmed the excellent quality of the materials, it is supplied with the ring. According to the hallmarks inside the ring band, the jewellery was made in Germany. It is in excellent condition. Numerous other examples of jewellery in this style can be found in Christianne Weber: Schmuck der 20er und 30er Jahre in Deutschland, Stuttgart 1990.
