Expansion Design Bologna - Gaetano Pesce - Vintage Velvet...

Extraordinary vintage fabric in printed velvet designed by the renowned architect and designer Gaetano Pesce in the 1970s. The pattern, called "Vibration", represents one of the clearest and most effective examples of kinetic art and Op Art applied to textiles in the landscape of Italian Radical Design. The design cleverly plays on the compression and dilation of a grid of dark brown rectangles and squares on a beige background. The densification of lines toward the center creates a suggestive three-dimensional visual effect, giving the illusion of a dynamic wave or of a true, "vibrating" movement on the surface of the fabric. The fabric shows some shading in the velvet and some hair loss near the selvage (carefully observe the images). The talking selvage is present. The piece measures 150 x 250 cm. Unlike the multicolour variants, the strictly geometric and two-tone version of Vibration is particularly sought after by collectors and contemporary interior designers for its extreme elegance and ease of integrating into both modern and vintage interiors. It is exceptional whether used as a tapestry/wall panel with an internal frame, or for making cushions or bespoke seating coverings. Colors may vary depending on the different digital devices used
