A spectacular pendant featuring an untreated natural ruby crystal from Afghanistan, set in a delicate silver mount with a bail.(Its colors are reminiscent of the finest opals.) The stone displays a vibrant pinkish-red or raspberry hue, with the hexagonal crystal structure characteristic of corundum perfectly visible and well-preserved. Pieces of this kind—which retain the crystal's natural prismatic habit—are highly prized in the gem world by mineral collectors and enthusiasts of exclusive, handcrafted jewelry alike. Afghan rubies are historically renowned for their intense hue and natural fluorescence when reacting to light, making them among the most prized gemstones in Central Asia. Known as the "King of Gems," the ruby symbolizes passion, vital energy, strength, and prosperity. It is one of the four major precious stones and the hardest mineral after the diamond. Shipping information: The lot will be shipped in a protective box or case, carefully packed and with a tracking number to ensure safe and convenient delivery.
