This extraordinary agate and chalcedony druzy from Uruguay presents itself as a naturally created work of art. Hovering on a simple black metal stand, the impressive structure of the stone is fully visible and takes on an almost sculptural effect. Particularly fascinating is the exceptionally high-contrast pattern: finely layered bands in deep anthracite, smoke gray, blue, and light chalcedony frame the crystalline center. An intensely orange line creates a spectacular natural contrast and highlights the central druzy opening impressively. The numerous fine bands, circular structures and small “eyes” turn the surface into a complex landscape in which new details can repeatedly be discovered. In the center, a natural crystal cavity opens up, where the bright calcite crystal stands out distinctly from the darker agate and chalcedony areas. The interplay of a smooth, highly polished surface and a rough crystalline texture gives the piece a special spatial depth.
