Half-length male portrait, oil on oval panel, signed and dated bottom right R.S. 1914. Gentleman of the early 20th-century bourgeoisie, dark suit, white shirt and black tie, mustache in Belle Époque fashion. Neutral greenish background, oval format suitable for a drawing-room. Gold‑toned wooden frame with beadwork ornament and original burgundy cord. Era: 1914 (date in the painting). Style: realist portrait / Belle Époque, European school. Support: oil on oval panel (not canvas). Conditions Wear consistent with age. On the surface there are small pinhole holes (wood-borer/aging of the panel): they are not a defect from recent restoration, they certify the age of the support. Oxidized varnish, some scratches and stains. Frame with wear to the gilding. Back in visible wood, with paper residues and a hanger. The painting is offered in the state in which it is found, with no cleaning or restorations.
