Gestural abstract painting developed through a spontaneous process of improvisation, layering, erasure and reworking. Gesture, materiality and rhythm create a dynamic balance, leaving the painting process visibly present. The work emerges through a continuous dialogue between intuition, chance and the physical act of painting, rather than from a predetermined image. Each gesture transforms what came before, allowing the painting to develop through a shifting balance between control and unpredictability. The final work remains open and is never entirely completed by the artist; its last stage belongs to the viewer, who may choose to engage with it, follow its movement and allow personal associations and imagination to complete the experience. Artwork size: 114 x 150 cm Year: 2026 Technique: Acrylic on canvas Signature: Hand signed by the artist on the reverse Provenance: Directly from the artist’s studio A signed Certificate of Authenticity is included, specifying the title, technique, dimensions and year of completion. Classically trained in graphic arts and design, he also developed a photographic practice in his youth, sharpening his keen sense of observation and visual composition. A self-taught painter since 2000 as well as a musician, his work revolves around improvisation and spontaneous mark-making. Navigating freely between abstraction and figuration, Pixa approaches the canvas as an open field of experimentation—embracing the unexpected, deconstructing, and reorganizing forms in pursuit of a dynamic balance. Centering intuition and creative freedom, he offers open-ended visual narratives that invite viewers to engage with the artwork and project their own perceptions onto the canvas. His practice explores the space between abstraction and figuration through gesture, movement and colour. Working primarily with acrylic paint, he combines spontaneous mark-making with layered compositions, drawing on the traditions of Expressionism, Abstract Expressionism and Action Painting.
