This impressive Crystal-Opal natural specimen from Ethiopia presents itself with an exceptionally intense, almost electric green to red-green base effect, which is particularly striking due to its high light transmittance and the vivid internal structure. Across the entire polished surface runs a fascinating play of luminous green and red tones that, in places, seems almost three-dimensionally to glow from within the opal. Numerous natural brown-gold inclusions and matrix areas traverse the stone and form a striking contrast to the bright, almost ice-blue opal substance. It is precisely this combination of intense blue, translucent depth, and the naturally preserved matrix structure that gives the piece its extraordinary character and makes it a highly interesting collector’s specimen for lovers of high-quality Ethiopian opals. The surface has been carefully polished in selected areas, preserving the natural form of the rough stone while simultaneously significantly enhancing the optical effect of the opal.
