This impressive Crystal-Opal natural specimen from Ethiopia captivates with its exceptional transparency, the warm, honey-green to olive-green base color, and a particularly vivid play of color. Within the transparent to translucent opal body unfolds a fascinating fire of color in intense green, radiant blue, strong orange, yellow, and fiery red, which, depending on the incident light and viewing angle, reveals new color zones again and again. Especially impressive are the large orange-red color flashes in the lower and middle areas, interwoven with intense green and individual electric blue tones, giving the piece extraordinary optical depth. The natural rough form with its distinctive irregular outer contour and the clearly preserved areas of the matrix or host rock emphasize the original character of this specimen. At the same time, selected areas were carefully smoothed and polished, making the underlying opal structure stand out even more and making the play of color seem to glow from within the stone. Thanks to the combination of transparent opal substance, natural matrix, pronounced depth effect, and an extraordinarily intense color play, this is an extremely decorative and characterful collectible for lovers of high-quality Welo- and Crystal-Opals. A particularly fascinating natural piece that reveals its effect especially under targeted illumination and presents a different color play with every change of the viewing angle—from rich neon green to turquoise and blue to spectacular fire colors in orange, yellow, and red.
