Escuela Posimpresionista Europea (XX) - De camino al pueblo

Title: On the Way to the Village ㅤ School: Catalan School (20th century) ㅤ Style: Post-Impressionist landscape painting and rural costumbrismo ㅤ Technique: Oil on canvas. ㅤ Condition: Generally good apparent condition, with signs of aging and slight wear to the framing. ㅤ Circle and artistic influence: Work linked to the tradition of Catalan landscape painting of the 20th century, with influences from the Olot School and the pictorial approaches developed by Joaquim Vayreda. The representation of the rural environment, the spontaneous brushwork, and the emphasis given to the atmosphere also recall the post-Impressionist trends present in Catalan painting in the first half of the 20th century. ㅤ The composition represents a Catalan rural landscape crossed by a dirt road that leads to traditional buildings situated in the background. On the right stand several large stacks of hay, surrounded by vegetation and cultivated fields. ㅤ The road organizes perspective and directs the gaze toward the architectural ensemble, while the different green, ochre and brown tones convey the chromatic richness of the agricultural landscape. ㅤ The sky, dominated by a grayish and cloudy atmosphere, introduces a diffuse lighting that lends naturalness and depth to the scene. The brushwork is loose and expressive, with particular attention to the textures of vegetation and the representation of the earth. ㅤ The overall scene evokes the serenity of peasant life and constitutes a representative example of the interest in rural landscape within the Catalan pictorial tradition. ㅤ The artwork is presented with a wooden frame featuring geometric lines and finished in white and beige tones, with discreet interior details that bring luminosity to the composition. ㅤ Observations: Work signed in the lower left corner. Rural-themed landscape, characteristic of Catalan Post-Impressionism. ㅤ The work may incur damage during transport even with proper packaging. In such cases, we will require photographs of the damages to proceed with compensation. Customer satisfaction is always our priority. ㅤ Exceptionally, shipping costs may be affected by a surcharge for reasons such as being outside a continental territory, or exceedances in dimensions or weight of the item. PremiArt will not be responsible for this surcharge. ㅤ The courier that must pass through the Swiss border can be delayed much more than usual, so, if possible, to speed up the process we will provide the customs number that is holding the shipment so that the client can unlock it and thus reach its destination.
