Escuela Impresionista Europea (XX) - Calle Mediterranea

Title: Mediterranean Street ㅤ School: European Impressionist School (20th century) ㅤ Style: urban impressionism with a genre-painting character. ㅤ Medium: Oil on panel. ㅤ Condition: Generally good overall conservation state, with light signs of aging in the ensemble and the frame. ㅤ Circle and artistic influence: ㅤ The work is stylistically related to the Mediterranean urban landscape painting developed during the 20th century. Its treatment of light and architecture recalls the proposals of Joaquim Mir and certain urban compositions by Santiago Rusiñol, although it maintains its own pictorial language, more synthetic in character. ㅤ The painting represents a street of traditional Mediterranean architecture, headed by an ancient pointed-arch door integrated into a stone building. On both sides appear whitewashed buildings, balconies and tiled roofs, which help recreate the atmosphere of a historic town. ㅤ The composition stands out for its longitudinal perspective, which guides the gaze toward the monumental entrance in the background. Natural lighting creates contrasts between sunlit façades and shadowed areas, using a palette of whites, grays, ochres and soft blues. ㅤ The brushstroke is loose but structured, giving importance to architectural volumes and to luminous variations. ㅤ The work bears a signature in the lower right corner. ㅤ It is presented with a wooden frame of wide gilded mouldings, dark details and an inner ivory passe-partout, which enhances the perspective of the scene. ㅤ Observations: ㅤ The work may incur damage during transport even with proper packing. In that case, we will require photographs of the damages to proceed with compensation. Customer satisfaction is always our priority. ㅤ Exceptionally, shipping costs may be affected by a surcharge due to reasons such as being outside a continental territory, exceeding dimensions or weight of the item. PremiArt will not cover this surcharge. ㅤ The courier that must cross the Swiss border may experience much longer delays than normal, therefore, if possible to speed up processing, we will provide the customs number that is holding the shipment so the customer can clear it and thus reach its destination. Experience has taught us that this is the most effective solution for both parties. ㅤ Due to the high volume of shipments it is possible that the order is delayed more than three days, for which we apologize and thank you for your patience. Any questions about your order please contact us via internal messaging. ㅤ Dimensions: 35 × 27 cm ㅤ Dimensions with frame: 58 × 48 cm
