Escuela Impresionista Europea (XX) - Bodegón de Orquideas

Title: Orchid Still Life School: European Impressionist School (20th century) Style: Floral Impressionism with Post-Impressionist influences. Technique: Oil on canvas. Condition: Good overall preservation, with light signs of age on the frame. Circle and artistic influence: The work stylistically relates to the European floral still life tradition of Impressionism and Post-Impressionism. Its construction through broad color patches and the simplification of forms recall certain compositions by Henri Matisse and Raoul Dufy, especially for the balance between color expressiveness and the depiction of natural elements. The composition features three large white flowers, resembling magnolias, accompanied by abundant green and bluish leaves. The flowers occupy almost the entire pictorial space, standing out for their white petals worked with broad and luminous brushstrokes. Their yellow centers introduce small points of chromatic intensity. The background is built with pinkish, purplish and ochre tones, which contrast with the dark greens of the foliage and the luminosity of the flowers. The painting presents a loose and spontaneous execution, where the contours are partially integrated into the color patches. The absence of meticulous details reinforces its modern and decorative character. The composition stands out for its chromatic harmony and for the prominence of the painted surfaces. Signature present in the lower right corner. Accompanied by a wooden frame with an aged gilded finish, stepped moldings and a wide ivory-toned inner band, which adds elegance and luminosity to the overall piece.
